Quick, easy and fun no bake birthday cake,

It was our friends birthday a few weeks ago and I wanted to make a fun but very quick and easy treat for them. So away to Pinterest I went. When I saw this, I laughed, it was so clever, and it would be perfect for us to do.

For the base I cut up a cardboard box and wrapped it in tinfoil. Something my friends could easily recycle and not have to wash and return. Before  you wrap it,  I recommend testing its strength by putting the pop on it to make sure it will hold the weight. This is important for transporting.

For the bottom layer, I found these smaller cans of Mt. Dew at Walmart. Sorry I don't remember the ounces, just that they are smaller than normal ones and they came as an 8pack instead of 6. I put all 8 in a circle and then put a disposable plastic cup, upside down, in the middle of the cans. This gives you something to help stabilize and support the next layer, the candy bars. My cup was a little taller than the cans, which helped keep the bars in place.

Next I laid the candy bars in a line, face down, and taped them together. I think I used a combo of 7 or 8 snack size MilkyWays and KitKats. I then made a circle with those and  placed them around the top of the cup and tied the ribbon around them, just above the top of the cans.

For the top layer I used three KitKats and  again laid them  facedown and taped them together. There was just enough room to crumple up a small  piece of newspaper ad and shove it  between the previous layer of bars  and place the 3 KitKats on top of them. The ribbon on these I cut extra long so that I could wrap them around the bars and then up through the middle so they could lay over the top. Finally I tied the ribbon around the bottom of the cans.  And voila!! A no bake cake that took about 5-10 mins to put together.
