Christ Christmas Tree Ornaments

I love finding simple ways that remind us of the real reason we have Christmas. I made these with my cub scouts this week and they turned out so great I wanted to share. They are easy and fun to make. Hope you enjoy.

What you'll need-
  • Popsicle sticks (6-12 per ornament depending on the design you chose).
  • Paint and paint brushes
  • Elmer's glue or hot glue gun.
  • Pictures of Christ
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Pen
Step1: Paint Popsicle Sticks
We did traditional green and red, but you can pick any color
that will match your decor. I painted one side, let it dry, repeated on the other side,
and then painted the ends where I held it.
If you are doing this with cub scouts or a group of kids and there is a time limit,
I recommend painting them before hand and just having them ready
for the kids to glue together.

Step 2: Create Design and Glue Together
There are so many different designs you can make with this. I had 2 for the boys to chose from. Make your design and lay it all out. Then glue the sticks together.  For the star I made 2 triangles, let them dry, and then glued the 2 triangles together.
Waiting for the sticks to dry together is probably the longest part. A hot glue gun
is faster if you have one and/or want the kids use it.

Step 3: Align Picture for Cutting
Next take the picture you want to use, line it up and make marks for cutting. Then cut the picture down to size. Remember to leave enough space to glue the picture to the sticks.

Step 4: Glue Picture to Frame
Once you have your picture cut down to size, glue it to the back
of the frame. Let it dry before turning over.

Step 5: Add Ribbon and Hang Up
Once your picture is dry, lace the ribbon through an opening
at the top and tie a knot. If you don't have an opening
at the top of your frame, you can tape or glue the ribbon to the back.
Wait for glue to dry.

Hang on tree and enjoy!
