Valentine's Day Wreath

As a stay at home mom, I am all for quick, easy, and inexpensive craft ideas. This wreath is just that. I purchased a styrofoam wreath (I think it was 13") and one 2.5 oz skein of "I Love This Yarn" sport weight in Cranberry color, from Hobby Lobby. I already had pink and white felt from another project and the ribbon was one I saved from a gift bag. Other than that all you need is some glue (I used my hot glue gun) and some scissors and you are ready to go.

Step 1: Wrap the yarn tightly around the wreath. I found it easiest to hold the wreath between my legs, that way I had both hands free to move the yarn quicker. Once it is all wrapped, tie a knot so the yarn won't shift, but do not cut the yarn.

Step 2: Next cut out felt hearts. Flip the wreath over so the knot you tied is on the back of the wreath. Lay the hearts on top of the wreath.

Step 3: Glue hearts to wreath. I found it easiest to leave the hearts on the wreath and lift up the corners to place a small amount of glue there. That way I didn't mess up my spacing.

Step 4: Wrap yarn around wreath to give argyle effect. I wrapped the white hearts one direction first, and then went back the other way. Spacing wise it was easier. You can play around with it and see what you like you best. Then I did the same for the pink hearts.

Step 5: Once you have all the hearts wrapped, flip over the wreath and tie off the yarn. Cut the yarn.

Step 6: Tie ribbon or yarn around wreath for hanging. (Ignore my sad bow tying skills).

Step 7: Hang up and enjoy!
