Wooden Snowmen

These are incredibly easy and cute winter decorations that anyone can do.

My sister-in-law started these for us and then let us do the finishing touches.

What you will need:
Wooden Log
Fleece for hats and scarves
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Black sharpie marker
Nose (Adelaide made the noses from a
fallen tree branch in her back yard.)
Drill for making nose hole (optional)

Step 1:
Drill out hole for nose. If you do not have a drill,
or don't want to use one,
you can easily hot glue the nose directly onto the wooden log.

Step 2:
Paint and let it dry completely.
I recommend drilling the whole first,
that way you wont need to do any touch ups after drilling.

Step 3:
Cut out fleece for hats and scarves.
The dimensions for these will depend entirely
on the size of your log.

Step 4:
Fold and glue brim (step not shown).

Step 5:
Glue hat together. You can glue your hats,
scarves and noses to your snowman, but we decided
not to so that we can store them separately and easier.
Plus my kids will really enjoy taking them
apart and putting them back together.

Step 6:
Add nose on.
Tie scarf around snowman.
If desired, cut the ends of the scarf.

Step 7:
Wrap small rubber band around hat.
Cut down any excess fleece.

Step 8:
Cut top of hat to give it some character.

Step 9:
Draw eyes and mouth.
Add any embellishments you wish:
buttons, cheeks, sparkles, bells, etc.

Step 10:
Set them out to enjoy!

As soon as I put them down,
my 21 month old started to rearrange them.
Later all of the hats and scarves were completely off.
We'll see how long it takes
her to figure out the noses come out too!
